mosh

the air had been steamy and much too warm all week. the air conditioner, working tirelessly, seemed to make no difference. my fan gasped as it attempted to push coolness through still, heavy space.

but thunderstorms were predicted, surely bringing soothing relief to the baking earth. indeed, as we stood in line, dark, ominous clouds approached, rumbling from the west, sending ahead a balmy breeze.

and muse was about to let loose its apocalyptic downpour upon the masses. the sky would fall this nite.

as balmy late evening sunshine gave way to darkness and cascades of rain, so cloud room's breezy pop punk gave way to the tempestuous drama of muse.

the anticipation was almost unbearable. at last, the trio took the stage, and like a deluge of sound, proceeded to drench the people in grand vocals, melodic tunes, thundering piano, blended with surging, loud, visceral rifs, leaving those of us in the mosh pit devastated in their path, breathing the fire out of our lungs.

the show rocked the house and was better than i ever expected. the set list was unbelievable: a blistering rendition of hysteria, a vicious run from invincible, plug in baby, new born, to stockholm syndrome, and a dynamite finish... my mop of hair was damn hellz ye for moshing...
