i've added three blogs to the list: nodalpoint, biosingularity, and al fin. nodalpoint deals with issues and news specific to computational biology, mainly from a cs perspective.

biosingularity is an interesting read. the author "started this blog to chronicle the remarkable advances in biological systems and hopefully also to provide a conceptual framework to discuss reverse engineering biological systems and its profound ramifications for the future of humanity". woah.

lastly, the blog al fin further broadens the scope of scientific discussion to a level where the "primary interest is seeing that the best of humanity survives long enough to reach the next level". where do we go from here?

all three are nice blogs because they raise issues and discuss stories that represent the journey, not just the final chapter.
